We’re trying to track down this early Bay as it has a very special place in our hearts ! :-) Its a 1969 Dormobile in Dove blue, OWM 392J. We know its still on the road but would love to know how ‘Norma’ is getting on these days. Anyone out there know what she’s up to ??

We like to keep busy here at Busgutz, and as well as concentrating on our customers’ pride and joys if we get any spare time we delve into our own. We have a ’65 13 window split and a ’72 Danbury bay on the go at the moment – both in various stages of restoration! Here’s progress on the bay – we’ve virtually replaced the bottom 6″ all around (standard on a UK bus these days alas), new sills, chassis members, and both wheel arches. Just the front to go then the hard work starts with prep, paint and re-build.

Here’s a new Devon style interior that we have just finished for a customer – ready for a DIY fitting. All units are slightly oversized to accommodate a van that we have not been able to measure directly. We have also finished the surface units in stainless steel to the customer’s requirements – a nice alternative to the Devon black surfaces.

Just a few finishing touches to go with the trimming, but all the woodwork is now complete.

Few quick pics of the build interior – showing the Devon style cupboard frontages in preparation. More pics to follow as we hope to have it all in place for a fitting tomorrow….

Progress pics on the split -

Combination 3 burner and sink unit fitting, along with water supply, fridge and 12v accessory lighting.

Still to come – R&R bed furnishing, door furniture and final fix electrics.

New interior now in place, ready for final fix.

Progress has been made on Lisa’s T25. The old interior has been stripped out and the shell fully re-lined. First fix wiring is being installed prior to the units, and a new sunroof has replaced the old leaking one.

Fresh out of the spray booth – and catching admiring glances from all around…
(excuse the poor quality camera phone pics)
